Ritika Pandit

6 years 3 Shree Sangla Balkumari Secondary School Girl

In reference to the above matter and in accordance with letter Ref. No. 13, dated Shrawan 13, 2081 BS, from 'Women for Human Rights (Single Women Group)' it has been reported that Bhawana Pandit (aged 24, residing in Tadi Rural Municipality-4, Nuwakot) entered into a relationship with an individual known as 'Bijay' (originally from Birgunj; further details unknown). Following the birth of their two children, Bhawana faced domestic disputes, mental pressure, and physical abuse, which resulted in injuries to her head and spine. Her husband has since gone missing, and she has been receiving care and medical treatment from her maternal family. As the father’s name and whereabouts remain unknown, and because Bhawana Pandit is currently undergoing mental health treatment—compounded by a weak financial situation—it has become difficult to ensure the children's care within a family setting. This information is further corroborated by a recommendation letter (Ref. No. 111, dated Shrawan 20, 2081 BS) from Tadi Rural Municipality-4. Consequently, it is requested that arrangements be made for the protection of her 7-year-old daughter, Ritika Pandit—including the provision of psychological counseling, education, and medical treatment—until an alternative long-term arrangement can be established. Furthermore, it is requested that efforts be made to locate the child's father and conduct an assessment, with the aim of facilitating a potential reunification of the child with her parents, should circumstances permit.

In the present matter, as per the letter received from National Child Rights Council Nepal, it has been requested that the girls recommended for temporary protection from 104 are young and their details and address are unknown, and that despite continuous efforts for a long time, their families have not been found, and that there is no possibility of immediate family reunification of these girls. Therefore, it is requested that the girls in the details be transferred for long-term protection at Children and Youth Mobilization Academy of Nepal (CYMA Nepal) for her psychosocial support, education, medical care, and general protection.
