Swosmita Singh

Her father, Prakash Bahadur Singh, had been missing for nine years, leaving the family without his care, guidance, and financial support. The situation became even more difficult when her mother, Dhanalakshmi Singh, passed away on 21 jestha 2074 B.S. Following the loss of her mother and the prolonged absence of her father, Sosmita was left without parental care and protection at a young age.

After these unfortunate circumstances, her grandfather, Ram Sara Singh, took responsibility for her care and upbringing. However, due to his own limited financial resources and the family's already difficult economic condition, he faced considerable challenges in providing her with proper care, nutritious food, clothing, healthcare, and educational opportunities. The family's financial struggles made it increasingly difficult to ensure a secure and stable future for Sosmita.

Recognizing her vulnerable family situation and the difficulties faced by her grandfather in fulfilling her basic needs and educational requirements, Ram Sara Singh submitted an application to the concerned Ward Office on 2078/07/03, explaining her circumstances and seeking necessary support. After understanding the family's situation, the Ward Office certified that Sosmita was an orphan girl belonging to an economically disadvantaged family

Considering the absence of parental care, severe financial hardship, and the family's inability to provide adequate support for her upbringing and education, the Children and Youth Mobilization Academy of Nepal (CYMA Nepal) recognized Sosmita's vulnerable situation and took the initiative to support her. Understanding her need for proper care, protection, and educational opportunities, CYMA Nepal provided her with residential care by accommodating her in its hostel. Since then, CYMA Nepal has been supporting her by providing quality education, nutritious food, proper accommodation, clothing, healthcare, educational materials, and other essential daily necessities. Through these continuous efforts, CYMA Nepal has been helping Sosmita grow in a safe, caring, and supportive environment while ensuring her access to education, proper nutrition, personal development, and a better future.
